About us

East Stirlingshire Football Club currently participate in the Scottish Lowland League and play their home matches at Oxhilview Park in Larbert. The club's origins can be traced back to 1880, when a local cricket club in the village of Bainsford, near Falkirk, formed a football team called Bainsford Britannia. The club, as East Stirlingshire,  was elected to the Scottish Football League in 1900, just ten years after the Scottish League was established, and "the Shire" have competed in the league system in each subsequent season.

The club has once won the Scottish League's Division 2
, in 1931-32, and in 1962-63 finished runners-up, earning promotion to Division 1 on each occasion. This twice-achieved elevation to the top flight lasted for the minimum possible period but both successes remain historical highlights, a proud part of the club's splendid  inheritance.

"Just win.""

Sir Alex Ferguson's blunt message of support to  ESFC  on 15 May 2004.

“Re-signing for East Stirling was an easy decision to make as the manager here gave me a chance to make it at senior level in football 18 months ago. It's not as though I am not interested in progressing or anything like that but if I am to leave, I would like East Stirling to get a transfer fee as a reward for taking a chance on me as opposed to me just leaving."

East Stirlingshire captain Kevin Turner demonstrates laudable loyalty, 1 February 2013
